England Rocks- Times Table Rockstars

Congratulations to Hornets class, who won the England Rocks competition and scored the greatest number of correct answers in the given time.

Primary Maths Challenge

Both Year 5 and Year 6 children took part in the Primary Maths Challenge this year. Although children were competing individually to get through to the bonus round, they were also competing to win a house competition. Anglesey Abbey won and earned 50 points for their house!

We are pleased to announce that two children have also progressed to the bonus round which will be completed in February. Well done everyone!

Maths at lunchtime

Children are enjoying lunchtime Maths. An activity is introduced in an assembly and then children can participate at lunchtimes. In the Autumn term, children played ‘say what you see, draw what you hear’ where mathematical vocabulary is used to describe a drawing to somebody who cannot see it. We enjoyed seeing how accurate we were with our vocabulary and discussing where we needed to improve.

In Spring, we are exploring Maths@work and children will be selecting a job and making connections as to how that job uses Maths.
