Year 2 Music
Y2 Boomwhacker Playing
Y2 pupils in both classes are extending their percussion playing skills to pitched percussion by playing the boomwhackers. These are colourful tubes, each length of tube creating a different pitch. We have recorded ourselves playing some pieces for you to enjoy. We have worked hard to listen to the pulse of the piece and to play the rhythms accurately.
Leopards:
Pancakes - can you hear the different pancake toppings – pancakes with jam, pancakes with butter, pancakes with maple syrup.
Panthers:
Pancakes - we like this one too!
Emperor Penguins Walk: our rhythms should sound like someone is saying this phase!

Y2 Singing
We have also been learning about the musical word ‘pitch’ and have learnt this song called ‘Little Echo’, which moves in steps between pitches. We have been singing the echoes and showing the changes in pitch with our hands.
